What you’ll be doing:

 

  • Work one-on-one with local businesses to lead our workplace campaigns and raise funds to support vital community programs and services
  • Maintain ongoing communication to continue to educate about United Way and the programs/services we provide
  • Network and build deeper relationships with our local business community, the Health and Human Services community, and the community at large to ensure ongoing support

Relationship Management:

 

The Relationship Manager works one-on-one with local businesses to raise funds for the community. Duties and responsibilities of the relationship management component of the position include:

 

  • Within assigned divisions of workplace campaigns, conduct year-round research, cultivation, updating, and documentation of assigned accounts, potential accounts, and individuals
  • Through regular communication, build and maintain relationships with account CEOs, employee campaign coordinators, and other key leaders and stakeholders to ensure campaign success
  • Plan and schedule workplace campaigns in conjunction with the overall campaign plan and timeline
  • Support employee campaign coordinators in conducting workplace campaigns by providing needed information and materials tailored to their individual needs
  • Conduct presentations about the benefits of supporting the United Way of Rock River Valley (UWRRV)
  • Develop account goals and strategies to increase giving and number of donors; conduct a post-campaign evaluation of strategies
  • Arrange CEO calls for top accounts
  • Provide appropriate recognition to accounts including but not limited to: awards, certificates, organizing and attending company-sponsored thank you events, thank you cards to campaign volunteers, CEOs, and employee campaign coordinator
  • Recruit, train and monitor campaign volunteers
  • Record communications throughout campaigns and input campaign results into the Andar/360 database
  • Utilize Andar/360 to research past and present campaign activity to determine the giving level and improvement opportunities
  • Participate in general staff meetings and other meetings and events planned by the agency.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education:

 

High School Diploma with relevant experience

 

Skills and Experience:

 

  • One to two years of experience in sales, fundraising, customer service, and/or nonprofits
  • Experience in volunteer management
  • Strong customer relationship skills and effective soft skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to relate effectively with a diverse group of individuals and organizations in a positive, respectful manner
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and complex database systems
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills allowing for success in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work in order to meet critical deadlines
  • Willingness to embrace and adhere to United Way standards, corporate culture, and ethics
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/priorities and proactively plan/schedule
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from board members, staff members, clients, customers, and the public
  • High standards of quality, performance, and accountability
  • Flexibility with occasional early morning, late evening/weekend meetings and events

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

United Way is the leader and trusted partner in improving lives, tackling key community issues, and making the community a better place for all.  Work is carried out with the intent of always delivering on the mission of the organization.   The environment is generally represented by normal office conditions but can vary with organizational demands. Timely completion of special requests, projects, and meeting deadlines associated with primary duties is expected and may require time outside the workday.

 

Travel Requirements:

 

  • Frequent local travel within the county, including occasional evenings
  • Reliable personal transportation required
  • Valid Driver’s License and Insurance required

 

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Good vision and hearing acuity (with adaptive aids if necessary)
  • Manual dexterity and frequent repetitive hand/arm movements utilizing the computer keyboard
  • Constant sitting with frequent standing and walking
  • Occasional bending/stooping, kneeling, pushing, reaching, squatting, and moving/lifting approximately 25 to 50 pounds
