Title Training and Technical Assistance Coordinator

Reports to Co-Director, CORE Department

Job Summary

Responsible for coordinating and/or delivering training opportunities for our Service Delivery Area (SDA) and provide technical assistance to child care practitioners. This position is an hourly non-exempt position.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following related fields (ECE, Child Development, Child Psychology/Behavioral Sciences, Family Consumer Sciences, Social Work, Elementary Education, Child Welfare, Family Services, Psychology, Sociology).
  • Knowledge of child care and child care practices
  • Technical proficiency with a personal computer and various software packages
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Enjoy working as a team member as well as independently
  • Comfortable with networking and establishing collaborations
  • Strong knowledge of community resources
  • Ability to type at least 30 words per minute
  • Current Illinois driver’s license and valid vehicle insurance
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds
  • Must become Gateways to Opportunities Registry member within two (2) months of employment
  • Obtain and document a minimum of fifteen (15) hours of professional development annually
  • Completion of INCCRRA CSD training by December 2016, or for new staff within one year of hire

Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for developing, administering, coordinating, and evaluating all child care provider training activities within SDA
  • Provides professional development and training technical assistance to child care providers
  • Evaluates early childhood training needs and uses this information to plan trainings
  • Organizes a pool of community resources and consultants to be utilized for training services
  • Creates quarterly training calendar and prepares it for distribution
  • Evaluates training events and trainers for quality purposes
  • Maintain provider database and produce reports regarding SDA activities and in Data Tracking Program (DTP)
  • Ensures prompt data entry for trainings; including entering registration, producing sign-in sheets, printing certificates, reconciling classes and data checks for DTP
  • Responsible for annually reviewing training and fee policies
  • Maintains Authorized Entity status through INCCRRA
  • Conducts child care training needs assessment for SDA
  • Provides child care referral services and consumer education to parents/guardians in accordance with the Illinois Department of Human Services and YWCA policy and procedures
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality
  • Participates in community activities including community events, media campaigns, promotional materials, and community presentations
  • Participates in staff meetings, working to uphold the mission of Child Care Solutions and the YWCA of Rockford
  • Communicates with impartiality and respect all parents’/guardians child care choices
  • Speaks to the purpose and services of all YWCA programming
  • Responds with sensitivity to families’ socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, religious backgrounds, individual needs and capabilities
  • Reflects agency image in appropriate manner, behavior and dress
  • Performs other duties as assigned
